Light Fleet Mechanic
The Role:
If you are looking to gain experience within the Local Government sector and believe you can work safely as part of a great team within the community, this could be a great opportunity. Our client is a Local Government division SOR and are currently seeking a qualified Mechanic to join their team to assist in routine and scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs on their Light vehicles & Heavy Diesel Fleet vehicles + machinery.
- Carry out repairs, servicing and maintenance across a broad range of small plant & equipment:
- Parks Machinery, Mowers, Trailers and small plant equipment
- Heavy Fleet:
- Waste trucks, sweepers and mid-size trucks (where licencing allows)
- Maintain a safe and efficient standard of repairs including testing of equipment
- Comply with and implement plant maintenance programmes
- Undertake minor welding repairs
- Ensure two stroke fuels are mixed correctly and available daily for outside crews
- Assist in cleaning and keeping tidy mechanical workshops and surrounds
- Lock up of vehicles at end of the day
Criteria:
- Valid driver’s licence
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical & Motor Vehicle repairers Certificate (Minimum Required)
- Heavy Diesel mechanic Certificate (Desirable)
- Previous Experience in similar roles (Highly Desirable)
- Highrisk work licence: Forklift
- White Card
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electronic systems
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current National Police Clearance – Clean record
- Pass a Drug & Alcohol Screen Test
